Conservative Parliamentary candidate, Rebecca Harris joined local businessman James Parkin at the launch of his appeal to raise funds for the replacement of trees originally planted in honour of two lifeguards at Canvey Seafront.
James has approached Seafront traders asking them to dig deep to sponsor the new trees. He explains “The Seafront is the jewel in Canvey Island’s crown and the while the first phase of enhancements have made a significant improvement to the area, we must not lose site of the history of the seafront, and for a nominal cost the trees that have disappeared over the years can, and should be replaced.”
Rebecca Harris says “It is a nice gesture from James to undertake the running around to raise funds to replace the trees. It is amazing what communities can achieve if someone has the drive to get schemes like this started” |
