MY PROMISE TO WORK FOR YOU

Thank you for taking the time to read this. Our democracy is strengthened by having determined local people speaking truth to power and that’s exactly what I would do if elected to be your Councillor in Canvey North.

I am standing for election as somebody who professionally is used to representing the interests of small businesses in the face of central Government. With your vote I hope to draw on my experiences and finally bring some much-needed fresh ideas to the Council. Our local politics has grown stale with no change for the last twenty years despite being represented almost entirely by the same Independents who say much but do little. It is time for new forward thinking and bold solutions to support us through our day-to-day challenges.

Castle Point Borough Council needs a shake-up and that is bestdone by Conservative candidates with detailed alternatives to materially improve our quality of life in Castle Point. We’ve all seen the winding traffic along Dovervelt and Central Wall Road up until Waterside. It is time residents have a professional, family friendly councillor that sets out realistic solutions to our problems and most importantly delivers on them.

1 Work towards solutions to our housing problems that prevent any building on the West marshes and flood-prone green spaces on the Island. Any development should put infrastructure first and focus on renovating derelict homes before looking elsewhere.

2 Vote for Community Ownership of the Paddocks. The future of the hall needs to be taken out of politics altogether. The Friends of the Paddocks Trust already has an innovative new plan to utilise those memory-filled spaces by renovating the old building through charitable funds.

3 Clean-up Canvey with an energetic drive to get on top of much needed repairs to our local street scene. This means renewing the busy Leigh Beck bus stop, proactively repairing broken street and road signs, and generally promoting the safe, polite, community minded society we all deserve to live in.

These local elections present us with a distinct choice.
An energetic, local team of Conservative candidates with a big community focus; or the same outdated ‘Independent’ blame game that has seen Canvey Island left behind for the last 20 years.

On 5th May 2022 we have an opportunity to elect a representative who will actively serve the community and voice the concerns of ordinary Island families. Please lend me your vote so that I can ask right questions for Canvey and find common sense solutions to our longstanding shared issues.
Thank You Adrian Roper
