It was a pleasure to mark the start of National Apprenticeship Week 2015 by opening the Apprenticeship Event at Canvey Island Job Centre.
Apprenticeships are great ways for people looking to take their first steps into the world of work or along a new career path. There is also strong evidence that they increase the profitability of the businesses that take them on, especially small enterprises.
700 people started an apprenticeship in Castle Point last year alone!
For businesses there has never been a better time to take on an apprentice and I would urge every small business in Castle Point to take one on.
If you are interested in either becoming an apprentice, or are a business owner considering hiring an apprentice in Castle Point, you can contact Carol Pounder at Canvey Job Centre via her email address, carol.pounder@dwp.gsi.gov.uk , or contact your local Further Education College.
