Castle Point MP Rebecca Harris has welcomed new figures released today that show a fall in net migration of 84,000 in the year leading up to June 2012 compared to the previous year.
The figure was helped by big falls in the number of citizens immigrating to the UK from New Commonwealth countries and the number of people immigrating to the UK from the EU accession countries is down to its lowest level since 2004.
Commenting on the fall Rebecca said “This is definitely good news and it proves that the Government is definitely getting to grips with dealing with the legacy of rampant immigration left to us by the Labour Government.
