MY PROMISE TO WORK FOR YOU
I have been working hard for you as your local councillor for four years. I am asking you to please support me with your vote in the upcoming local elections.
I am proud to work for the NHS and I have been a trustee of a local charity caring for women who have suffered domestic abuse. I was born and raised locally and I am standing to be your Councillor to help ensure our local area stays a great place to live, both now and in the future.
I voted against the Local Plan when it came before the Council in March and will continue to fight against speculative Green Belt development in our town. I will fight hard for alternatives to meet our Borough’s local housing need without building on our treasured local Green Belt sites.
We have a lot to be proud of locally. Woodside Park for example is a fantastic asset for our community, as are the beautiful Coombe Woods. We also have many great local schools and active local charities and voluntary organisations. But as a community we also face many challenges. Right now the cost of living is rising sharply and everyone is starting to feel the pinch. The priority of the Council MUST be helping residents and local businesses who are struggling as costs continue to rise. If I am re-elected that is what I will deliver. I will not support any inflation-busting council tax increases and will ensure those who are feeling the pressure with the rising cost of living are supported. With the cost of services rising, the Council is facing some challenging financial times ahead. I will fight to ensure front line council services we all rely on are protected and that we as Council Tax paying residents get true value for our money.
As a parent I am concerned about the level of speeding that goes on along our local roads. I am an active volunteer in the local Essex Police backed ‘Community Speed Watch’ group and if re-elected I will continue to lobby Essex County Council for more speed calming measures on problem roads.
I've always been a community minded person and I am not afraid of speaking up if I think something is wrong. I am organised, energetic, and I know how to get things done. I am asking you to please support me with your postal vote so I can keep on working hard for you and our town.
Thank you Nikki Drogman
