MY PROMISE TO WORK FOR YOU
I live in Thundersley and I have lived in Castle Point for almost 50 years. My family live and work here too, and my grandson attends a local school. I know the history of the Borough and have a vested interest in its future. That is why I am asking for your vote as I stand for re-election on the 5th of May.
One of the most important, yet enjoyable parts of being your local Councillor has been the opportunity to meet residents at our monthly Surgeries which we hold at the White Hart Pub. This is where we get the chance to listen to comments and concerns and I look forward to continuing to share a tea or coffee with everyone who calls in.
As your local Councillor, I initiated the refurbishing of the Swans Green Playground, and the new playground equipment on the Common. I have been best placed to help with traffic speeding concerns, fly-tipping etc. and look forward to continuing to help Thundersley residents if re-elected.
For some years, I have been a member of the Thundersley Town Team and have planted daffodil bulbs in the planters, knitted poppies for Remembrance Sunday and helped to hang flags along the Hart Road railings. I am sure many of you will remember the Christmas Fayres we organised before Covid kept us all indoors.
Most importantly, at the recent Council meeting, I voted AGAINST the Local Plan and I can assure you that, if you re-elect me, I have every intention of voting AGAINST the Local Plan in its current form if it comes to Full Council again. I realise that the condition of our roads is a great concern to many and I will continue to lobby Essex County Council to repair the potholes and road surfaces.
It has been an honour to be the Mayor of Castle Point this year and in that role I have enjoyed meeting many local groups, volunteers and businesses which has reinforced my view that this is a fantastic place to live!
If you re-elect me on 5th May, I promise to continue to work for you and all local residents to keep our Thundersley Community thriving.
Thank you. Patricia Haunts
