MY PROMISE TO WORK FOR YOU
For the last eight years I have had the privilege of representing the residents across Victoria Ward and I would love the opportunity to continue the work I have started throughout the Ward and the rest of Castle Point.
As a local business owner, I think it is essential that we have individuals on the Council with the experience of running successful companies and supporting local groups and organisations.
During my time as a Councillor I have really enjoyed helping support our residents when they need help. During my time as a Cabinet Member for Environment at Castle Point Borough Council I directed the renegotiation with our street cleansing contractor, Pinnacle, to introduce clear-cut terms and conditions and bring more accountability to the teams involved with grass cutting and park maintenance. This has led to a vast improvement in our street scene throughout the Borough.
Litter and Fly tipping is a constant blight on our landscape, on my regular litter picks, especially around St Michaels Road I see this first hand and have instigated new signage in the area and the introduction of a litter warden in the borough, although early days, this is already proving successful with fly tips being investigated and fines issued. There is still much work to be done and further improvements to be made and I hope I can continue the job I have started.
I have obtained the funding for the resurfacing of John Burrows Car Park and supported the Hadleigh Community Group in their efforts for funding the superb outside gym there. Combine this with the instigation and great
instalment of those lovely flower planters in collaboration with the Salvation Army on the London Road amongst many other things.
I hope that as your Councillor I have shown the benefit of having a community minded and experienced representative out there backing residents and local groups for the benefit of our Ward and Castle Point.
As a fellow Victoria Ward resident, I hope I can count on your vote on Thursday 5th May 2022 so that I may continue with the work I have started. Thank you for your support.
Thank you Paul Varker
