CLIFTON AVENUE
Conservatives in Action’ Cllr Tom Skipp tells us “Myself and Cllr Wayne Johnson were told by residents that the road surface in Clifton Avenue, Benfleet required some attention due to the large number of potholes etc.
With the help of County Cllr Andrew Sheldon we gave a list of the reported defects in Clifton Avenue that were outstanding to the Highways Dept.
I am happy to say that carriageway patching along Clifton Avenue took place on Monday and I have been advised that any outstanding issues will be reassessed during the next planned inspection.”
BOWERS ROAD
“Following complaints about parking issues at school times in Bowers Road Benfleet it came to my attention that the Enforcement Officers could not issue any PCN's because the signage was incorrectly located and the road markings were inadequate.
I asked the Officers at the Council and the Parking Partnership to investigate and as a result the sign has been relocated and the road markings have been correctly reinstated.”
ROMSEY DRIVE
“A resident of Romsey Drive complained to me that the weeds at the rear of Sapper Ellison Way were growing out of control.
My investigations showed that this strip of land was privately owned and therefore not adopted highway. I have now reached an agreement, with the help of the Officers at Castle Point Castle, that our Contractors will now clear this area and routinely cut it as part of the regular programme.”
