IMPORTANT NOTICE RE LOCAL PLAN
The Planning Inspector has asked the Council to individually post on his behalf a letter he has written to those who responded to the public consultation on the local plan. The letter explains that there was a new version of the National Planning Policy Framework that came out last month that contains a number of updates to the pervious version. The Inspector wants to know the views of consultees on whether any of these updates have any impact on the soundness of the plan. The letter also asks the views of consultees on the documents that were submitted as evidence during the examination hearing.
Over the next few days copies of his letter will be sent out by the Council to all those who took part in the hearing sessions or responded to the local plan consultation that occurred between December 2019 and February 2020. These letters will be delivered in envelopes that appear as in the photo attached but they will be directly and individually addressed.
The deadline the inspector has set to receive responses is the last day of August.
The documents that were submitted during the hearing can be found via this link https://www.castlepoint.gov.uk/local-plan-submission/ . They are the documents submitted after the beginning of the hearing on 11th May.
Both the new version of the NPPF and the previous version published in 2019 can be found via this link: https://www.gov.uk/.../national-planning-policy-framework--2
Unfortunately, it appears the Government does not publish an official version of the new NPPF where all the changes from the previous version are highlighted. That said there are many articles from different sources that detail the changes that can be found from searching online. I would not like to be seen to be recommending or endorsing any particular articles or analysis so I will not post any links, but I would urge everyone to do as much of their own research as they can.
PLEASE ENCOURAGE EVERYONE YOU KNOW WHO RESPONDED TO THE PREVIOUS CONSULTATIONS TO RESPOND TO THE INSPECTOR’S LETTER AND ENSURE HE HEARS YOUR VIEWS.
