I am standing for election on the 24th of February in the St.Peter’s ward By-Election, following the sad passing of our Conservative Councillor Bill Dick. I hope to honour him and his legacy by being a strong voice for St. Peter’s ward and the Thundersley community.
Here are some of my pledges:
Zero building on Greenbelt. If elected, I will not vote for any building on Greenbelt land.
Early years education is a vital start for our children. As a father with a young family, I was concerned to learn that Church authorities were looking to stop the provision of early years education at St. Peter’s Church. If elected, I will stand with fellow Conservatives and residents in opposing something detrimental to early years education.
As a local employer, I help manage a large family cleaning and gardening business based in Castle Point. Local businesses are the lifeblood of a community, and if elected, I will always do my best to promote and assist these valuable assets to our local economy.
I know how to achieve value for money while delivering good service, and I will bring that experience to help the Council keep its books balanced in the tough times ahead.
I have a passion for reducing our impact on the planet, and my business prides itself on its green reputation and environmental awards. The environment is high on my agenda, and if elected, I promise to assess and reduce the environmental impact of every decision I make.
I will be approachable and accountable to you, the voter. If elected, I will ensure I am easy to contact and attend the Thundersley surgeries to meet you in person.
If you agree with me, I ask that you lend me your vote on the 24th of February.
Kind Regards
Michael Dixon
From donating flowers and brightening Thundersley to establishing a Tree of Hope outside Runnymede Hall at the height of the vaccination delivery programme our candidate for the The St Peter’s ward election, Michael Dixon has always been active within our community long before he decided to stand for election. It is those qualities which the Conservative look for before we select candidates to represent us.
From Marie Curie fundraising, cleaning the South Benfleet Youth clubhouse, slowing down speeding motorists as part of Speedwatch to collecting donations for a refuge and litterpicking with his family he really demonstrates that community matters to Michael and his young family. What a great addition to the Council he would be.
