I had great fun shopping for things to add to my garden at St James the Less plant sale and market at the weekend.

The weather was excellent and it was good to see so many people there supporting the event. Well done to the organisers and everyone who had a stall.

Fun Day at St Nick’s Church

I have just come back from the pre-show for the Fun Day at St Nick’s Church tomorrow starting at 11:00AM.

There will be a warm welcome and lots of great stalls tomorrow. Clothes and accessory stalls, plant stalls and a kids sweet tombola where every child will win something.

New Borough Police Commander

Thank you to the new Borough Police Commander, for meeting me on Friday inside Canvey Police Station for my regular catch-up on the Borough’s policing issues.

We discussed a range of issues, from the “Boy Racers” to anti-social behaviour and serious crime and hidden harms.

Thank you to Mindy Friedman who welcomed me into her lovely house on Canvey to try to teach me how to make Challah Bread.

Challah is a special jewish bread, usually braided and typically eaten on ceremonial occasions such as Shabbat and major jewish holidays.

National ‘Love your Library’ day

Today is national ‘Love your Library’ day and the fantastic Benfleet Community Archive are holding an exhibition at Benfleet Library today until 4:00PM, complete with special guest, Eric the Viking.
