On Saturday 22nd July, 9 Canvey Island residents, opened their gardens for the Canvey Island Charity Garden Trail. Most gardens were open from 10am – 6pm, with members of the public able to visit all 9 gardens by purchasing an official programme.
Essex and Suffolk Water have just called me to let me know that due to a shortage of top course at the site they won’t be able to restore all the footpaths until tomorrow which means they have to keep it fenced off which will mean restricting the road to one carriageway.

I stepped out of the St Luke’s Charity Shop on Canvey today and the standby Essex & Herts Air Ambulance (their usual one is down for maintenance) flew over my head and landed in King George V playing field.
Just to let you know that we have caught your cygnet in our kayak. He has avian botulism - this is NOT contagious to humans or from live bird to live bird. It is caused by bacteria in the silt which produce a toxin called Botulinum.
